Gisele Bündchen and others stunned at Green Carpet Fashion Awards
We are green with envy over Gisele Bündchen’s latest red carpet look. The model attended the Green Carpet Fashion Awards during Milan Fashion Week in a stunning floor-length green gown with a huge cutout in the back.
In keeping with the event’s theme, the Stella McCartney gown was beautiful and sustainable, “crafted from sustainably sourced viscose from sustainably certified forests in Sweden,” according to Bündchen’s Instagram.
And apparently, you can make one heck of a dress without all those fancy yet unethical materials.

Bündchen looked like a siren in the mermaid-style frock with spaghetti straps. The cutout went from midback to right above her tush, exposing a hefty amount of the former Victoria’s Secret Angel’s flawless skin. Her hair was in loose natural waves, and her face glowed.
The avid environmentalist was clearly excited that this event was happening, and not just because she won its Eco Laureate Award. “The world needs people and businesses that can lead the way toward more sustainable solutions,” she wrote on Instagram. “The fashion industry has the power to lead this movement, bringing focus to environmental, social, and ethical challenges on a global scale. We need to unite to find real answers. Our very existence depends on the health of our planet. When we take care of the earth, we take care of ourselves. We are all connected. ?.”
And she wasn’t the star bringing the sustainably chic fashion. Dakota Johnson also showed up for the inaugural event hosted by Eco-Age. Johnson wore a black organic silk tulle dress with recycled brass embroidered cups. Swarovski crystals were featured on the straps, bodice, belt, and skirt. Her matching clutch featured “recycled brass with lead-free metal hardware, plated with RJC-CoC [Responsible Jewelry Council Chain-of-Custody] certified gold,” according to Milan Fashion Week’s Instagram.
Johnson was sustainable from head to toe, wearing black biological silk platform shoes made with natural cork, recycled plastic, Italian vegetable-tanned soles, and insoles made with Forest Stewardship Council-certified cellulose and recycled polyester yarn.

Elsa Hosk accepted the Green Carpet Challenge in a red A-line gown with a ribbon belt and a high neck designed by Alberta Ferretti. The dress was made from certified organic silk chiffon, which was produced in a weaving mill in Como, Italy. The gown featured recycled hand-dyed lace and zippers.
Zoe Saldana walked the green carpet in Armani Privé. The floor-length lavender gown created a wispy look with cascading ruffles.
Naomi Campbell supported the event in an Atelier Versace Spring 2017 Couture mermaid gown with silver detailing and an ombre white-to-yellow feathered skirt.
Model Karolina Kurkova attended in a Ferragamo gown that featured floral appliqués embroidered with lead-free advanced crystals from Swarowski. The silk organza look was “woven and printed with GOTS-certified fibers,” according to Milan Fashion Week’s Instagram. The short strapless number featured a panel in the back that created a butterfly effect. The bespoke accessories were also made of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)-certified fibers.
