Gigi Hadid Opens Up About What It Was Like Shooting Her Maternity Photos
After initially holding off sharing any photos from her pregnancy, Gigi Hadid shared an angelic maternity shoot this week, taken less than two months before her due date. The model didn't share much behind-the-scene detail initially, but on Twitter last night, she opened up a bit about what the process was like for her.
A fan asked her how it was "shooting with your baby bump for the first time." Hadid replied that she enjoyed it, but it was different from regular modeling.

"I loved it, I knew what I wanted from the pics and Gab and L&I really made it happen for me," she said, crediting her shoot's stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and photographers Luigi and Iango. "But [it] was definitely more tiring than working normally," she continued. "Got through the second look and was like ‘guys I think I can only do two more’ hahaaaa."

Initially, Hadid spoke on Instagram Live in July about why she opted not to share photos of herself pregnant. "I just am not rushed to do it, and I feel like right now I just want to experience it, and I write in my journal a lot, and I just don't want to worry about waking up everyday during my pregnancy and like worry about having to like look cute or post something," she said.
She also added that she felt the focus should be on bigger things than her right now. "Obviously, my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world," she said. "That's a reason that I felt that it's not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening. And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM [Black Lives Matter] movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that."
