'Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045' Drops First Trailer for Season 2
After a lengthy two-year hiatus, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is finally coming back for a second season on Netflix.
The streaming giant announced the news via a new teaser trailer, which you can view above. Aside from a few action sequences, not much has been revealed about the second season's plot for the time being, and the accompanying synopsis simply reads "Fully prosthetic cyborg Motoko Kusanagi leads Public Security Section 9 as they once again take on cyberbrain crime." In addition, Netflix has also confirmed that Daiki Tsuneta's Millennium Parade will be performing both the opening theme song "Secret Ceremony" and ending theme "No Time to Cast Anchor" for the series.
As you'd expect, many of the first season's cast members will be returning for the new run, including Atsuko Tanaka as Motoko Kusanagi, Akio Ohtsuka as Batou, Koichi Yamadera as Togusa, Yutaka Nakano as Ishikawa, Toru Ohkawa as Saito, Takashi Onazuka as Pazu, Taro Yamaguchi as Borma, Sakiko Tamagawa as Tachikoma, Megumi Han as Purin Ezaki, Kenjiro Tsuda as Standard, Kaiji Soze as John Smith, Megumi Hayashibara as Takashi Shimamura, and Shigeo Kiyama as Kurisu Otomo Teito. Both Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki are also back to direct the show with Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts, while Russian illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov will return as character designer.
For fans of the series, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will hit Netflix in May for its second season.
