We’re getting a “Big Hero 6” TV movie, and we’re satisfied with this news
The holiday season has arrived early this year for fans of Big Hero 6! Because Disney announced some “Big” news: Big Hero 6 The Series will debut on November 20th.
And it’ll kickoff with a one-hour TV movie titled Baymax Returns!
Here’s a bit about what to expect from the TV movie:
“Set in the fictional city of San Fransokyo, Baymax Returns explores the moment in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning feature film after Hiro believes that his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax is lost in the portal forever and discovers the chip his brother Tadashi designed to create Baymax,” a press release reads.
“14-year-old tech genius Hiro begins school as the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and sets off to rebuild Baymax, but his overconfidence and penchant for taking shortcuts leads him and the newly minted Big Hero 6 team – Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go, and Fred – into trouble.”

Baymax Returns premieres on Disney and Disney XD (yes, at the same time!) on Monday, November 20th at 8 pm. Immediately after the premiere, two full-length “preview episodes” of Big Hero 6 The Series will be available to stream via the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD On Demand.
New episodes of Big Hero 6 The Series will air on Disney XD weekly, kicking off sometime in “early” 2018 — so make space in your DVR, accordingly.
Voice actors Maya Rudolph, Scott Adsit, Genesis Rodriguez, Jamie Chung, and others are all set to return. New cast members include Khary Payton as Wasabi, and stand-up comedian Brooks Wheelan, who is replacing T.J. Miller in the role of Fred.
Though it’s been three years since Big Hero 6 first hit theaters, a month feels like an impossibly long wait for Baymax Returns!
