Reportedly, the actor and the civil rights lawyer have designated donations toward six charities and organizations including $250,000 each to the Motion Picture and Television home, SAG-AFTRA Fund, and the Los Angeles Mayors Fund. The couple also donated an additional $300,000 to international charities, such as the Lebanese Food Bank, Lombardo Italy Region, and the National Health Service.
According to the outlet, the Motion Picture and Television Fund and the SAG-AFTRA Foundation both aim to provide temporary financial assistance for those whose jobs or salaries were affected by the coronavirus, including providing health insurance, rent, food, and other essentials for the community.
Both the Lebanese Food Bank and Lombardo Italy Region are personal odes from the Clooneys—Amal is of Lebanese–British descent, and George has lived part time in Italy for years. The Lebanese Food Bank assists in feeding those unable to work within the country, and the Lombardo Italy Region directly supports hospitals within the Italian region in need of help due to the pandemic.
