The Game Awards 2023 Lets You Win A Steam Deck OLED
Steam Deck multiple games
The Game Awards 2023 show is just around the corner, and is set to feature up to three hours of awards, games announcements, performances, and strange ads and promos that feel weirdly out of place. That’s the beauty of The Game Awards though — you never really know what’s going to happen. This year, though, you’ll be able to win something cool just by tuning in: a Steam Deck OLED.
The Game Awards presenter Geoff Keighley announced on Twitter that during the show, 100 brand-new Steam Deck OLED machines will be given away. Each of the devices will be a 1TB variant, which is good, and the competition will be open to a wide range of countries — though places where the Steam Deck isn’t sold like Australia and New Zealand will miss out.
Here’s the full list of eligible countries for The Game Awards’ Steam Deck OLED giveaway:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States.
The Game Awards says that you have to be over the age of 18 to enter, and that winning is entirely a game of chance — though there will be a skill-testing question to comply with Canadian laws.
To enter, all you have to do is head over to the Steam Deck OLED giveaway competition page during the show and follow the prompts. The giveaway is being handled by Gleam, so you won’t need to enter through Twitch drops or any other silly nonsense, just head to the page during the show and follow the prompts.
We recently went hands-on with the Steam Deck OLED, and in our review said it was the best way to play PC games. It’s a fantastic little upgrade from the original model, though probably not quite worth upgrading if you’ve already got a Steam Deck of some kind. Still, a free Steam Deck is a free Steam Deck, right? You may as well enter.
