Gal Gadot Finally Responds to James Cameron
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gal Gadot discusses the incredible success of her solo Wonder Woman movie, and she even teases the film's much anticipated sequel. And for the first time ever, Gadot finally addresses James Cameron's criticisms of Wonder Woman which garnered him a lot of media attention in August 2017.
In an interview with The Guardian, of the new Wonder Woman, Cameron said, "She’s an objectified icon, and it’s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing! I’m not saying I didn’t like the movie but, to me, it’s a step backwards." His misguided comments were met with a lot of criticism but, notably, Gadot never responded. Until now.

As Gadot tells Entertainment Weekly, she didn't respond at the time "because I didn’t want to give him the stage." Which is the best reason not to rebut Cameron's opinions. Basically, why give him more unnecessary media attention, regarding a topic that has nothing to do with him?
But Gadot was extremely fair in her response, as she continued, "I’m a big fan of his work. His movies are great. He was very innovative in many things that he did, and I’ve got nothing but great things to say about the creative and professional side of his work." Fair enough.
But as for when he came for Wonder Woman, Gadot is pretty clear about his intentions: "When it happened, the timing of when it happened, he was promoting another movie of his. It was like he was looking for publicity and I just didn’t want to give him the stage."
