Variety chip packs are nothing new under the sun, but what Frito-Lay has just announced is definitely a game changer. Though they have been around for decades and have literally been a lifesaver when heading to parties or stocking up on snacks for the kids (thanks, mom!), previously, variety packs have pretty much been "what you get is what you get." Now, however, Frito-Lay is letting you customize your own variety packs and it's probably the one gift you didn't expect 2020 to deliver.
So, I'm sure you're thinking, "there has to be a catch, right? I mean, you can't just pick any of their bags to have in your variety pack and get away with it." Well, if you're a person who always thinks things are too good to be true, you'll be happy to know that this isn't the case with this exciting news.
All you have to do is head over to Snacks.com/VarietyPack—the direct-to-consumer online shop brought to you by Frito-Lay—and choose any 20 snack bags to add to your pack. There are over 40 options to choose from including different varieties of Lay's, Cheetos, Ruffles, Doritos, Fritos, SunChips, and more. And, it'll only cost you a flat $10—even if you choose 20 different snack bags! Just remember that shipping costs will add on a little extra.
Currently, the customizable variety packs are only available in 24 states on the east cost, but by next year, the option will be offered nationwide.
Snacks aren't the only thing that Frito-Lay has rolled out this year though. Last month, the iconic brand announced their new online merch shop that includes a collection of socks, sweaters, and onesies inspired by the packaging of their beloved snack lines. So now, you can pile up on snacks and swag at the same time.
