Friends of the Jacksonville Library host book sale April 12-14
Apr. 7—The Friends of the Jacksonville Library are hosting a public sale Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14, and are seeking volunteers to assist with set up, sale days and packing of items not sold.
Set-up takes place during the three days prior to sale. The city provides tables, but the books must be set out for display, a tedious activity. However, those who assist in setting out items will be the first to see what is offered and will be allowed to set aside items of special interest. Volunteers are needed to work beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10.
Others are needed during sale days, to take money and provide change.
The sale will take place at the library, located at 526 E. Commerce Street.
Sale times are 10 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m. Friday, April 12; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13; and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 14.
Sunday is Super Sale Day with books sold at half price or $5 per box.
Organizers hope there will be minimal packing up following the sale.
All proceeds of the sale benefit the Jacksonville Public Library.
To volunteer, contact Gordon Bennett at 903-586-7664 or [email protected].
