Free homeownership seminar happening in Gastonia
Gastonia’s housing and community engagement department is hosting a seminar for residents who are looking to become homeowners but are not sure where to start.
The event is set to take place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 20 at the Gastonia Police Department 200 E. Long Ave.
A press release from the city said attendees will learn about the process of buying a home and downpayment assistance.
Mortgage lenders will also be there to answer questions.
The release said the event may help participants find information about how to receive up to $25,000 in down payment assistance. “It is important that we assist interested home buyers with information to help them make sound choices,” Danette Dye, the city’s director of housing & community engagement department said in the release.
