Free back-to-school giveaways are kicking off soon in Macon, Warner Robins. What to know
As students in Bibb and Houston counties prepare to return to classrooms, local organizations and community leaders want to ensure they score free supplies for the school year.
Several back-to-school giveaways in Middle Georgia will take place starting July 13, offering hair cuts, entertainment, food and more for youth with accompanying guardians.
Houston County School District students will return for the 2024-25 school year on July 31. Bibb County School District students will return on August 5.
Here’s a list of some upcoming community giveaways in Macon:
Humanitarian Gang Inc.
When: July 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: U Create Macon Innovation Center at 1065 Anthony Road
What: Humanitarian Gang Inc. will host a drive-thru giveaway event that will take place across the street from the Ballard-Hudson Middle School while supplies last. Raffle ticket winners will also be selected to win a free haircut. Food, refreshments and more raffles will be there. Find more info here.
Forrest B. Johnson & Associates
When: July 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Buck Melton Community Center at 150 Sessions Drive
What: Forrest B. Johnson & Associates’ annual Back2School Bash will be giving away free bookbags and other school supplies while they last. AJ’s Foundation
When: July 20 from noon until supplies last
Where: Tattnall Square Park Pavilion at 1155 College St.

Highland Hills Baptist Church
When: July 21 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Where: 1370 Briarcliff Road

When: July 27 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

What: The Law Office of Mahdi Abdur-Rahman will sponsor the sixth annual Back to School Bash. The event will distribute free uniforms, bookbags, school supplies, hygiene bags and more to students. Where: Elaine Lucus Senior Center at 132 Willie Smokie Glover Drive
What: The Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation will host its annual Back to School event, where parents, students, teachers and community members can celebrate the start of the new academic year. Free school supplies will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. The event will also feature information booths, live music, food and more.
