Fourth of July fireworks and more things to do this weekend at the Jersey Shore
If there's one thing Americans can agree on, it's fireworks.
We love the colors as they light up the sky, the spectacle, the oohs and aahs from the masses of people around us.
And, of course, the ka-boom!
At the Shore, there are lots of places to see fireworks for the Fourth of July. Some have festivals featuring music, food and children's activities. Here's a look at when and where to see fireworks by town and by date.
Just be sure to check town websites and social media pages for weather updates — and you'll probably want to arrive early to make sure you and your loved ones get a great spot to take it all in.
The good news is that even after the Fourth of July, there are still chances to see fireworks. Freehold Township Day, a celebration of veterans, runs from 4 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The festival will offer free children's rides and more, with fireworks starting at 9 p.m.
Jenkinson's Boardwalk will be lit up with fireworks from 9 to 9:30 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 29, weather permitting.
Stay safe, and have a Happy 4th!
Here's a look at other things to do this weekend at the Jersey Shore, including a free summer concert series in Red Bank and the Ocean County Car Club's 30th anniversary.

Car club show in Lacey Township
The Sentimental Cruisers Car Club of Ocean County will celebrate its 30th anniversary with “A Car Culture Showcase” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lacey Township High School, 73 Haines St.
The club started in 1994 at Joey’s Sweet Shop in the Waretown Plaza (currently the Waretown Post Office). Bob Zimmerman, Tommy Davis and Dave Bourgeous were cruising around Manahawkin in their old cars and later met up with Rich Karwecki. One day the group stopped in at Joey’s Sweet Shop for ice cream. The owner liked the cars and encouraged the group to return and hang out.
Soon others joined in, and plans to create a club began. The group currently has 68 members and meets on Fridays from April through October at the McDonald’s in Berkeley Shopping Plaza, 417 Atlantic City Blvd. (Route 9), Bayville section of Berkeley Township.
In addition to cruise nights, the club hosts several car shows and cruises throughout the year, with a focus on working with the community to support local charities.
