A Florida man got so drunk that he bit off his campsite neighbor's fingertip
According to Florida Keys police, a man was taken into custody after he bit off the tip of a man’s finger at a campsite, proving that nothing good happens around a bottle of tequila.
Aurelio Rodriguez, 54, of Hialeah, has been charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability and is currently in custody at the Stock Island Detention Center near Key West, the Miami Herald reports.
Rodriguez was camping at Bahia Honda State Park when his campsite neighbor of two days, Thomas Andrew Bill, and Bill’s wife, Michelle, brought over a bottle of tequila to share. However, the couple realized that Rodriguez had allegedly already been drinking.
Monroe County Deputy Kathleen Donovan reported to the outlet that Rodriguez was rude and fell to the ground at one point. Bill attempted to help him get back into his RV while Michelle returned to their own campsite.
While Bill was attempting to help Rodriguez, police say, he grabbed Bill’s left hand and bit off his fingertip.
Paramedics brought Bill to Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island, and while they were able to find the severed finger, the victim told ABC 10 that they were unable to reattach it. According to Bill, the remaining portion of his finger may also have been amputated.
Adam Linhardt, a spokesman for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, told the outlet that Rodriguez was found at his campsite covered in blood and was taken into custody by deputies.
