The First Picture of Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers Is Here and We’d Totally Be His Neighbor
It’s a wonderful day in the neighborhood because the first photo of Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers (aka Mr. Rogers) just arrived on special delivery from Mr. McFeely (JK it arrived via Sony).
Hanks stars in the upcoming Untitled Mr. Rogers movie (FKA You Are My Friend), which recently started filming.
Naturally, Hanks donned Rogers’s signature cardigan, tie and khakis look for the photo op and posed in front of his trailer with his best Rogers-esque smile (which is totally spot on).
Based on an article titled “Can You Say…Hero?” by Tom Junod, the upcoming film is being directed by Marielle Heller (The Diary of a Teenage Girl) and was written by Noah Harpster (Transparent) and Micah Fitzerman-Blue (Transparent). Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Chris Cooper (Live by Night) and This Is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson also appear in the much-anticipated film.
The Untitled Mr. Rogers project comes to a neighborhood near you in October 2019.
