Fireman's festival a hit in the Village of Byesville
The Byesville Fireman's Festival returned triumphantly to the Village Park on Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29.
The event started with a parade down Ohio 209, with bagpiper Colleen Ryan leading the way, flanked by Mickey and Minnie Mouse, characters from Paw Patrol and more.
Numerous area fire departments participated in the parade including Quaker City, Antrim and Pleasant City.
Following the parade, the crowd made its way to the park to kick off the festivities. Kaylee Bacon was crowned festival queen, with her little sister Alexis being crowned princess. Zoe Barnett was the runner-up princess for the festival.
Live music from Backbone kept the crowd entertained on Friday evening, while Saturday featured the headliner, Tyler Reese Tritt.
Attendees roamed the park throughout the weekend, visiting the vendor stands and bouncing in the bounce houses. Games were also on hand, including a clay pigeon toss, a rubber duck game and more. A dunk tank tested the skills of many a hopeful pitcher.
The festival included a 5K Saturday morning, despite the not-so-sunny weather, along with an auto extrication demonstration and raffles.
Drawing a large crowd was the Byesville Blast fireworks display. As blankets and chairs filled the park and hillside, the sky lit up with color as the festival came to a close.
