Film Director Rob Reiner Makes a Bold Request for Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has catapulted to a new level of superstardom over the past year, thanks to her wildly popular Eras Tour, continued music success and new relationship with Travis Kelce. Stars and regular folks alike have shared their opinions of the pop sensation—and the latest is film director Rob Reiner.
On Thursday, March 28, Reiner made a bold request for the pop star. And he certainly ruffled some feathers in the process.
"I'm in the midst of shooting a sequel to This is Spinal Tap," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "As much as I'd like Taylor Swift to do a cameo in the film, I'd give anything for her to endorse Joe Biden. She would virtually single-handedly save American Democracy."

In the comments, Mark Hamill pointed out, "She endorsed Biden in 2020 & will undoubtedly do so again."
Although it isn't a given that Swift will endorse the sitting president for a second time, the Star Wars actor is correct about her previous endorsement. In October 2020, Swift took to Twitter to share who she would be voting for on Election Day.
"I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate," she wrote. "Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies."

In her sit-down with V magazine, Swift explained why Biden earned her support.
“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included," the "You Need to Calm Down" singer shared.
She continued: "Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first. The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them."
