A FedEx Worker Surprised This Little Girl With Cupcakes For Her Birthday And It’s The Cutest Thing
Having your birthday fall during the middle of a pandemic is by no means a good time. While video calls allow you to talk and chat with all your friends at once—ahem, check out our 12 best virtual hangout ideas—blowing out candles in front of a screen isn’t exactly magical. And for young kids who may have been banking on a Paw Patrol-themed birthday party with all their friends, it's even more upsetting. Luckily, one FedEx worker had a special delivery for one little girl that made her birthday in quarantine one to remember.
On April 30, FedEx worker Jodan Price was going through his regular delivery routine, CNN reports. He arrived at the Paternoster's home in Fisher, Indiana to drop off a package, when six-year-old Emma Paternoster answered the door in a princess gown. When Emma saw the package was for her father, she became disappointed. Emma’s mom, Liz Paternoster, apologized for her daughter’s behavior and explained that it was her birthday and she was hoping for gifts. Price said "happy birthday" to Emma and then returned to his truck.
In less than an hour, he returned with cupcakes from Dairy Queen as a special birthday treat for Emma. "I just wanted to do this because if we weren't in this situation, she'd be celebrating with friends," he said. Liz explains she was not expecting this as the family had never met Price until that day. And for the birthday girl, she was very excited to show her cupcakes to her sister and dig in.
Ok @FedEx our driver deserves a bonus! He realized it was our daughter's birthday & went to @DairyQueen to get her ice cream cupcakes. He said "I just wanted to do this because if we weren't in this situation, she'd be celebrating with friends." I'm not crying. You're crying! ?? pic.twitter.com/BqoMbyC3G1

After the incident, Liz took to Twitter to note the FedEx worker's kindness. The tweet has since gone viral and even caught the attention of celebrities like Alyssa Milano who replied with "#SomeGoodNews." Other users who personally knew the FedEx worker chimed in with praise. "Mr. Price is a great man, him and his wife raised two amazing sons who I was very lucky to coach. Awesome highlight to my day!" wrote Twitter user @coachrickp1. Liz posted a follow-up video a few days later where she thanks Mr. Price once more. She also commented on the Twitter thread that she's planning to send him something special.
UPDATE: Mr. Price stopped by and we got to thank him. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Our hearts are full and we feel so blessed to have the best @FedEx delivery man in the world! ???????? pic.twitter.com/JFw2s2Wfdt
