Fear Not, Anglophiles: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's May Wedding Will Be Televised
What are you doing next May? Why, watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s televised wedding, of course.
Prepare to take the day off from work, family and reality in general when the duo gets married at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May, according to a spokesperson for the couple.
After all, everyone will be watching: Almost 23 million stateside viewers watched Prince William marry Kate Middleton in April 2011, according to Deadline. (Previously, 17 million Americans watched when Prince Charles and Princess Diana wed in 1981.)
It’s well worth all the fuss, according to the Duchess of Cambridge, who talked to reporters on Tuesday during a visit to the Foundling Museum in London.
“William and I are absolutely thrilled. It’s such exciting news,” she said. “It’s a really happy time for any couple, and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”
