My Favorite Room ... with designer Amanda Strine
Imagine spending a normal day at work, and coming home to a perfectly organized kitchen, playroom, closet, laundry room or more. A beautifully designed home doesn’t necessarily equate to an organized and functional home. That’s where Amanda Strine of Sensibly Sorted comes in to save the day.
Amanda says she starts her process with a consultation that includes measurements and a discussion about workflow and pain points. The next step is a carefully crafted design plan that takes both aesthetics and functional needs into consideration. After installation day, clients are left with a sense of relief and happiness at knowing all corners of clutter have been obliterated.
In designing her own kitchen renovation, Amanda concentrated on features that would showcase her passion for all things home — and her husband’s baking skills. “I’m a true believer that less is more, but without deprivation of the things you find beautiful and useful,” she says. “Every item that is brought in or remains in your home should be decided on with thoughtfulness and care.”

Top 3 tips for recreating this look
When organizing a kitchen or any space in the home, be intentional about sourcing items that are similar in style and material, and match the overall design of your home.
Keep things in the most accessible place for the flow and function of your kitchen. Sometimes, that means getting creative. For example: In a kitchen without a separate pantry, pivot to using cabinet space as pantry space, and place typical cabinet items like plates and glassware in a more visible place.
Only keep things that you actually use and have a designated place for. The kitchen is an easy place to overfill because there are so many gadgets out there. Keep it simple and streamlined by recognizing the boundaries of the space you have.
