Fast X Featurette Covers Cliffhanger Ending

To promote the release of Fast X’s digital release, the film’s cast and crew are taking us behind the scenes on a fresh featurette.

Tilted A Friend in the End, it details the cliffhanger ending, with Dominic Toretto actor Vin Diesel explaining the process behind the creative decision.

“When you end a movie with a cliffhanger of that magnitude, you only do that when you believe that your audience believes in you…to tie up all the storylines, this character needed to come back into the mythology.”

Diesel is, of course, talking about Dwayne Johnson. Johnson’s legendary lawman Luke Hobbs appears at the end of the film in dramatic fashion, taking off his mask and making the sort of quip only he could get away with.

Johnson made his first appearance in the Fast series with 2011’s Fast Five, and then starred in every subsequent film. He skipped 2021’s F9, however, so Fast X is the first time we’ve seen him in a quite while.
