'Fast & Furious' Franchise Getting Its Very Own Roller Coaster
Universal Studios Hollywood has announced its next big attraction: a Fast & Furious-themed roller coaster.
The news comes months after the park's latest opening of Super Nintendo World.
While the park is only just beginning to tease the newest coaster, reps shared that it'll be "equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely created to engulf guests within the dynamic Fast & Furious universe,” according to USA Today.
"Universal Studios Hollywood will bring innovative and technological achievements never previously employed to this all-new thrill ride,” a statement from the park read.
According to the publication, the new ride will be found on Universal Studios Hollywood’s upper deck, where the Animal Actors and Special Effects Show used to be. While there's no opening date yet estimated, the park said that construction is set to start soon.
It'll join the Fast and Furious - Supercharged experience, which is currently part of the World Famous Studio Tour, and its Orlando sister park's standalone attraction of the same name.
The news marks yet another major changeup in the industry, with Universal Studios Orlando upsetting fans earlier this year when they announced the closure of the beloved Poseidon's Fury show at Islands of Adventure, and Disney recently shutting down Splash Mountain to convert it into a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction.
Disney also shut down the popular Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at the Hollywood location this year so that the indoor coaster could undergo refurbishments, recently reopening for guests to enjoy the upgraded musical adventure.
