Fans Are Concerned For Jamie Lee Curtis After Her Latest Instagram Post
Jamie Lee Curtis hinted that her Oscars win celebrations left her in “agony,” sharing a photo of a walking boot on Instagram.
Fans showed concern for the 64-year-old Oscar winner, showering the star with well-wishes.
Curtis won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
The night of the Oscars was a wild one for Jamie Lee Curtis and her Everything Everywhere All at Once cast mates. So wild, in fact, that Curtis’ jumps for joy seem to have landed her an injury. After winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (and delivering an emotional speech), Curtis shared a photo of the gilded statue next to a walking boot (hinting at a foot injury) and a snap of her excitedly leaping post-ceremony.
“The THRILL of VICTORY and the AGONY of DA FEET!” Curtis playfully captioned the post. She didn’t offer much more detail regarding the state of her health, nor did she confirm an injury, but anyone who has worn heels for a long evening—let alone leaped in them—knows they can take quite the toll.
That’s why fans and friends flocked to the comments section to share concerns and well wishes. “Awww! Heals for heels!” Rosario Dawson commented. “Feel better!!!” Demi Lovato added. “Jamie when they say to break a leg…” someone else joked.
In case you hadn’t heard, Everything Everywhere swept the Oscars with seven wins, including Best Actress (awarded to Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (awarded to Ke Huy Quan), and Best Director. They all gave moving speeches, and Curtis teared up in hers, thanking the “hundreds of thousands of people” who have offered support throughout her 40-plus years in film.
“To all of the people who have supported the genre movies I have made all these years, the thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together!” she said, going on to individually thank her husband, daughters, and late parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, who were also Oscar-nominated actors.
Before walking off-stage, she raised her arms and shouted: “I just won an Oscar!”
Watching the speech back the next day made the Halloween star even more emotional. “I’m a little weepy,” she told Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie after they played a clip of her acceptance on Today. But in Curtis’ over-excited, limited time on stage, there was one group of people she forgot to recognize.
“The truth of the matter is the people I really wanted to thank and I didn’t were my friends,” she told Kotb and Guthrie.“My friends who wanted this for me before I ever, ever would have dreamt of wanting it ... because the longing for attention and appreciation for your work is universal. I don’t care whatever job you do, you hope someone appreciates you.”
And so many people do. Congrats again, Jamie! (And feel better soon!)
