Exhausted Newfoundland Chooses Unconventional Kitchen Counter Perch to Achieve Ultimate Relaxation
At a certain age, you'll fall asleep anywhere. Literally anywhere! One Newfoundland dog can totally relate. Coco must've been really sleepy (or perhaps she just seriously needed a nap) because she knocked right out in the strangest place.
You know how an afternoon of not doing much can tucker you out? Coco does. The Newfie had a pretty relaxing afternoon by all accounts, but that didn't mean she doesn't deserve a little snooze.
The Newfoundland was caught sawing wood in a video shared by her owner. It would be one thing if the dog was in her bed. But she somehow, someway, climbed all the way up to the kitchen counter before hitting the hay. Even funnier, because of her extra-large size the dog couldn't completely fit on the space! Nope, the Newfie had to rest her little head on a chair near the counter to take her nap.

"Cocoa is relaxing after an eventful afternoon filled with a blowout, brushing and walk," her owner joked in the video's caption.
People in the comments section were definitely impressed. "She definitely mastered the sleeping position and can sleep anywhere," one person wrote. "That’s exactly how I relax after coming home from the salon and having my hair done too Coco," someone else kidded. "Only Coco. Show them how it’s done girl," chimed in another person. "That has got to be so uncomfortable to the chin. But a dog's gotta dog, right Cocoa?" one commenter joked.
How Much Sleep Is Normal for Dogs?
Does it seem like your dog is always sneaking off for a little nap? Well don't worry too much, it's very normal for dogs to need a lot of sleep!
It might seem like your dog is constantly active. Whether they're asking to play or racing around the house during a case of the zoomies. But in truth your dog will spend more of their time sleeping. Most dogs sleep anywhere between 12 and 14 hours a day. If your dog is sleeping more than that you should talk to your vet. You also need to pay attention to how your pet acts during the day.
If your dog is lethargic during the day or disconnected from others, it might be time to start investigating. Environmental factors like new pets, changes in the weather, or changes in their daily activity can impact how much your dog is sleeping. But if it seems like nothing has changed, again you'll want to talk to your vet.
So you see, Coco is perfectly on schedule. Sleep on, Coco. You deserve it.
