EXCLUSIVE: Alexis Ren Collaborates With Abrand Jeans on 2000s-inspired Collection Featuring New Low-rise Silhouettes
Alexis Ren and Abrand have joined forces to debut a denim collection that taps into 2000s nostalgia. Featuring low-rise jeans and kitschy graphic Ts, the model also appears in a new campaign pegged to the collaboration.
“For me, it’s not about simply bringing back the past — it’s about reintroducing iconic styles in a way that feels fresh and relevant today,” Ren told WWD via email. “I’ve always loved low-waisted jeans; they make me feel my sexiest. But I didn’t necessarily connect with the ultra-glitzy, rhinestone-heavy side of Y2K fashion.”

Ren and Abrand have modernized the popular noughties silhouette, launching belted and boot-cut variations in light, medium and dark washes. This includes two new hero styles: the 00 Kick and the 99 Baggy Flare.
“Growing up in California in the late ’90s and early 2000s, I was exposed to these trends from a young age, but I didn’t always love how they were being photographed or styled,” Ren added. “I love how we’re blending that nostalgic energy with a more refined, high-fashion approach. It feels like the perfect fusion of past and present, and that’s what makes it so exciting to wear.”
The moody aesthetic of the campaign, photographed by Ren’s friend Melissa Cartagena, evolved from a test shoot they did together.
“Abrand saw those images and reached out, saying they loved the vibe and wanted to bring it into their campaign. That was such a special moment because it reinforced the idea that when you create from a place of passion, without any agenda, it can resonate in ways you never expect,” Ren explained.
Consisting of 19 different pieces, the Abrand Jeans x Alexis Ren collection also includes pleated denim miniskirts, cropped jackets and bustier tops, as well as knitwear. Available to shop now at abrandjeans.com, four additional styles will be rolled out in March as part of a second drop.
