Everyone Wore Plaid At New York Fashion Week: Men's
Check(s), mate.
After stops in London, Florence, Milan and Paris, menswear's most influential buyers, editors, and influencers landed in New York City for the last leg of the Fall 2019 shows. The biannual celebration of American menswear brought plenty of vibrant colors and loud prints to the Big Apple streets, especially in the form of statement coats and pajama-like pants. But plaid seemed like the most popular uniform among showgoers: Vibrant checks and more buttoned up, Ralph Lauren-inspired iterations of the preppy pattern covered shirts, trousers, puffers and blazers. Cher Horowitz-approved plaid has been a runway favorite for a few seasons now, so we're betting this checkered style will be popping up a lot more during the rest of the week, too.
