This year, the Bee crowned eight spellers co-champions after they each correctly spelled a word in the 20th and final round. Those final words were:
Auslaut: The final sound in a word or syllable
Erysipelas: An acute bacterial skin infection
Bougainvillea: A genus of shrubs with brilliant purple or red flowers
Aiguillette: A shoulder cord worn on military uniforms
Pendeloque: A pear-shaped, brilliant cut diamond
Palama: The webbing on the feet of aquatic birds
Cernuous: Drooping (as in a flower or plant)
Odylic: Of or relating to odyl, a natural magnetism
