Essie Just Launched a New Tool With Pinterest That Will Answer All Your Wedding Nail Woes
It’s a match made in mani heaven. In October 2017, the internet fascination with nails reached an all-time high on Pinterest with the platform boasting more than 46 million nail-related Pins within its wedding-friendly ecosphere. The social network then discovered that the most-Pinned nail polish brand was none other than Essie, a company well-known for its playful identifiers such as “Tying The Knot” or Queen Elizabeth II’s personal favorite, “Ballet Slippers.”
From there, a natural partnership formed between Pinterest and Essie, now resulting in a newly-launched tool appropriately named the “Pinterest & Polish” finder. Assuming that you’re a decently-organized bride, groom, or member of the bridal party, you can now match your favorite wedding-related Pins to any nail polish color, simply by linking your Pinterest boards to the Essie website.
That’s right! You can now source that exact shade of greenery embellishing your venue site or that blush hue you selected for your 16 bridesmaid dresses all within a few clicks (or swipes).
“Essie knows that with hundreds of shades, finding the perfect nail polish color can sometimes be overwhelming,” the brand’s assistant vice president of global communications, Jaclyn Buccellato, tells The Knot in an exclusive, first-look interview. “As a bride—or those closest to her—who’s planning every detail from the dress to the venue down to your [literal] fingertips, we wanted an engaging experience to take the stress off a bride’s hands in finding a nail polish shade for the big day.”
The timing was ideal for Essie, which launched a limited-edition, gel couture collection with bridal designer Reem Acra in February. “Working with Ms. Acra was magical,” Buccellato muses, “and it unlocked some must-have colors for this coming wedding season.”

The new tool captures 100 different Essie gel couture colors, and the way it works is incredibly simple.
First, link your Pinterest account to the tool on Essie.com.
Then select a board.
Choose a pin to color match, which can be anything from your bridal party dress colors to the shade of your wedding gown. (As we well know at The Knot, there are many derivatives of white and off-white.)
Finally, the Pinterest finder will scan its system for a gel couture color that precisely matches your pin.
“Many brides can tell you the color they wore on their wedding day, as it leaves an imprint on their special memories,” Buccellato concludes. “After that, you can always choose the sentimental color for an anniversary as a reminder of your wedding nails.”
