Emily Ratajkowski Channels a Hollywood Legend at the Met Gala
Supermodel Emily Ratajkowski arrived at the 2023 Met Gala in a chic and classic ensemble that took inspiration from an all-star Hollywood icon.
The 31-year-old hit the carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Costume Institute exhibit, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," in a blush Tory Burch gown with geometric black velvet trimming. The geometric pattern crisscrossed the dress throughout the flowing train, reminiscent of 1920s flapper fashion.
The dress also had a deep V neckline and a drop-waist bodice, with silver pearls accenting the dress' subtle pattern and ribbons on the shoulders.
As for the hair and accessories, the model wore her hair in a half-up-half-down style with a black bow and uneven fringe bangs, while she went for classic diamond jewelry in the form of rings and elaborate earrings and a matching clutch purse.
Speaking with Variety, Ratajkowski revealed the many different sources of inspiration for the glamorous look, including a classic Hollywood star: "Karl Lagerfeld, obviously, some Chanel references, Audrey Hepburn, we have quite a few little references."
Ratajkowski joined many other big-name stars at the Met Gala, including fashion designers, actors, singers, and more. Many fellow models also rocked the red carpet in stunning outfits, including Naomi Campell, Gisele Bündchen, and Irina Shayk.
Along with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the co-chairs of the 2023 Met Gala are Penélope Cruz, Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel and Roger Federer.
Ratajkowski has modeled for many major fashion designers, starring in advertisements, campaigns, and runway shows for Versace, Marc Jacobs, DKNY, and more.
