The Queer Eye guys doing a "makeover" on this rescue dog will make you sob tears of joy
If you’re in need of a good, cathartic cry today, then boy, do we have the video for you. In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on April 30th, Netflix released a video of the Queer Eye guys doing a “puppy makeover” on a rescue dog to prepare her for her future home.
Sweet baby Lacey, a three-year-old rescue dog believed to be a Corgi/Beagle/Basset Hound mix, was rescued from a high-kill shelter, and the Fab Five were brought in to give Lacey a little TLC to ready her for her “furever family.” First, they made her some dog-friendly peanut butter treats before giving her a paw massage with some coconut oil. They also set her up with her own bed, toys, and a fancy new collar and leash. But the part that hit us right in the feels? Karamo reminding Lacey just how much love she deserves.

After her day of pampering and relaxation, the guys even chipped in to cover her adoption fees, so her new owners will only need to provide endless love, kisses, and snuggles. And don’t worry—at the end of the clip, it’s revealed that Lacey was adopted, with her adoptive parents sharing that they fell in love “the second [they] saw her.” Obviously, we’re beyond heartened that this story has such a happy ending.
Check out the clip in its entirety and grab the tissues…you’re going to need them.
So happy for baby Lacey and her forever family.
