Elkhart offers free tours of newly renovated tower at High Dive Park. Here's when.
The city of Elkhart will offer tours this summer of the newly reopened brick tower at High Dive Park, which had been closed for 25 years until the city had it restored.
You’ll climb a spiral staircase to reach a covered, open-air deck with cool views of the park, which is near Christiana Creek as it approaches the St. Joseph River. The tower had originally been part of a Dutch-style windmill, though the blades have been long gone.
More from Outdoor Adventures: Pool floaties down the East Race? Oh yeah, plus other whitewater races this weekend.
Free, guided tours of the High Dive Tower will be given for those who show up anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month through Labor Day. The park is at 501 Baldwin St.
