Elizabeth Hurley was pretty in Barbie pink for a good cause.
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, the actress attended an Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where she wore an eye-catching magenta power suit, paired with a matching silk top and black heels. She accessorized with a breast cancer awareness ribbon pin on her lapel and silver jewelry, creating an effortlessly chic ensemble.
Hurley, who is a global ambassador for Estée Lauder, joined Dr. Lisa A. Newman, as well as several representatives from the Estée Lauder Companies, including its managing director Sadia H. Zapp, VPs Erin Cohen and Nicole Monson, and Dr. Dorraya El-Ashry for a panel discussing advancements in helping women be breast-cancer free.
Earlier that day, the Austin Powers star appeared on the Today show, where she spoke about her work for the Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign, which she's been part of for nearly three decades.
"Enormous strides have been made in those 28 years that I've been doing it, but one in eight of us [women] are being diagnosed with breast cancer and women are still dying," she said.
Hurley, 58, added that breast cancer is now the top cancer that kills women, which is why she wants to make sure that women "to look after their breasts, talk to their physician if they're worried, and raise money."
On a positive note, she shared that breast cancer research has "risen enormously," as now it's widely-discussed and "huge amounts of money have been raised." She noted that through the campaign, the Estée Lauder Companies have raised $118 million, with $93 million going into research to prevent the disease.
