Ed Sheeran revealed the weird way he gets in touch with Beyoncé
If you’re a music fan, you may have heard that Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé collaborated on a song together. It makes sense, as they’re both pretty unstoppable on the music charts, and Sheeran had mentioned wanting to work with Beyoncé back in January. The two reworked a song called “Perfect,” which Sheeran had actually released on his album Divide. “The [original] song came out so long ago in the scheme of music…and I was like, I want to do it as a single, and then I thought of a way of relaunching it,” he said to Ellen DeGeneres. “I was like, ‘I love Beyoncé. Should I ask Beyoncé?’ And then in my head, I was like, ‘She’s going to say no,’ but then I was like, ‘Well, you might as well ask.’ And she said yeah, so here we are.” Good thing he gave it a shot.
Of course, when you’re Beyoncé, you probably operate a little bit differently. For example, Sheeran discussed how he got in touch with her, and it’s a bit abnormal (yet somewhat admirable.) In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sheeran noted that the singer has more than one email address, and it changes up pretty frequently.
“I have an email address that I email that actually changes every week,” he said. “She’s very good at [hiding]. It’s kind of like what I aspire to be, I think.”
So, if you manage to snag Beyoncé’s email address, just know it’s probably going to go out of circulation pretty soon.
Sheeran also noted that she was an absolute professional, saying that a lot of the song was done in one take.
“When we got in together, it wasn’t so much notes, it was very much like a back and forth thing, like, ‘What’d you think of this?’ Or ‘What do you think of this?’ and we were probably in the studio for four hours,” he said.
Sheeran’s YouTube account uploaded the audio, and it sounds like a lot more time went into it.
We wouldn’t mind hearing more from these two. Hopefully Sheeran can keep track of Beyoncé’s current email to make it happen.
