Dune: Part Two Receives New Release Date and 70mm IMAX Run
Dune fans are being hit with waves of good news as the announcement comes that Dune: Part Two's release has moved up two weeks.
Now releasing on March 1, 2024, the film will also receive a 70mm IMAX run, similar to Oppenheimer earlier this year.
The grandeur of Dune means this format will be the superior way for fans to soak in every inch of Denis Villeneuve's world.
Nolan praised the format earlier this year, saying: "[The] sharpness and the clarity and the depth of the image is unparalleled. The headline, for me, is by shooting on IMAX 70mm film, you're really letting the screen disappear. You're getting a feeling of 3D without the glasses. You've got a huge screen and you're filling the peripheral vision of the audience. You're immersing them in the world of the film." as per Collider.
Following on from Villeneuve's first instalment in 2021, Dune: Part Two sees Paul Atreides unite with Chani and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family.
If you thought the cast of Dune was major, the additions to Part Two will blow your mind.
Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsg?rd, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling and Dave Bautista return with the additions of Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, Tim Blake Nelson and Christopher Walken.
