Duck? Rabbit? Mike's Hot Honey? What's the most unique pizza topping you've had?
Adding toppings to a pizza is an art.
Pizza makers use trial and error to figure out what flavors pair well together and, odds are, the ones that work end up on their menus. Sure there's the classics like pepperoni, assortments of cheese, vegetables, etc.
But we're curious about the truly unique.
In Ulster County at John Fazio Market, customers can find the "Elmer Fudd Pizza," a pizza topped half with duck and the other with rabbit. Or Zeus Brewing Company's Zeus Pie, a white pizza topped with red onion, pistachios, hot honey and oregano.
