Downtown restaurant The Wolf on Broadway to rebrand as Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner
A downtown restaurant that opened last fall is getting a new name and menu refresh.
The Wolf on Broadway, 600 N. Broadway, will unveil its revamped menu and new name — Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner — with a grand reopening party from 5 to 9 p.m. June 13.
With the rebrand, the stylish spot from owners Wolfgang Schaefer and Whitney McAllister will act as an extension of the couple’s popular Brewer’s Hill restaurant, Uncle Wolfie’s Breakfast Tavern, 234 E. Vine St.
In fact, you'll find a few menu favorites from the original location at the dinnertime spot, like the BELTCH (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and cheddar sandwich), the Big McAllister double smash burger and hand-cut french fries.
Breakfast Tavern cocktails like the Groggy Mick and house-made Bloody Mary will be added to the menu, as well.
If you loved the “cute and craveable” flavors at The Wolf, don’t fret. Plenty of Executive Chef Kristen Schwab’s playful menu items from The Wolf are sticking around, like Irma’s Chicken Sandwich, the Gado Gado Cobb Salad, the Chili Crisp Fish Sandwich, Mushroom Indomie and the Beef Rendang Puffs (now called Beef Hot Pockets on the menu).
To introduce the rebranded concept, Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner will host an opening-night service giveaway where the first 20 tables will receive a $25 gift card for a future visit (limited to one gift card per table).
There will be food and drink specials all night. The event is open to walk-in diners only, with no reservations being accepted.

Co-owner Whitney McAllister said the rebrand has been in the works for a while.
“This change does not come lightly,” she said. “Over the past couple of months, we’ve been thinking through changes we wanted to make, and this was the natural, organic conclusion.”
Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner was one of the original names she and Schaefer originally considered before ultimately landing on The Wolf on Broadway.
Hours for Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner are 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Saturday brunch, 5 to 9 p.m. for Saturday dinner, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Sunday brunch, and 5 to 9 p.m. Monday. The restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Like its breakfast-y sister spot, the Dinner Diner will be open to walk-ins only.
Any gift cards and reservations made for The Wolf on Broadway will be honored at Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner.
