Dorr to offer watercolor classes in Port Clinton
PORT CLINTON - "Through My Eyes," an exhibit and sale of master watercolorist Bobbie Dorr’s paintings will be on display now through June 30 at the Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry St. A reception, open to the public, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. June 8.
Dorr fell in love with art after being especially drawn to a painting by Robert Laesig. His specialty was sunflowers and cobwebs. As well as sunflowers, Dorr’s specialty is the grace and eye-popping beauty of poppies.
As a watercolor teacher, Dorr has made friends for life. “I love my students. We’re a family. Some of my students have been taking from me for ten years,” shared Dorr. She said she feels the classes are “me time” for her students, where the joy of learning and supporting each other is unmistakable.
Dorr to teach four classes in June
The Arts Garage is fortunate to be able to offer classes by Dorr who studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Dorr’s watercolor classes will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 17, (Rose Buds); 6 to 8 p.m. June 18, (Water Cans); 6 to 8 p.m. June 19, (Country Barn); and10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 20, (Lady in Red). Dorr’s step-by-step teaching style promises students will leave with a painting they will be proud to share.
In addition, the Arts Garage currently offers classes in pottery and needle felting for children and adults. Children who live in Ottawa County may take children’s classes at no cost but must be accompanied by an adult. Interested persons can register at www.gpcaac.org.
