With summer around the corner, Greater Cincinnatians need any excuse to be outside.
From parks and pools to hiking trails and festivals, there are many things to do in the area. And several local restaurants and bars also provide views of the Ohio River, as well as the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky skylines, among other scenic areas.
Here's a list of local spots that have great views.

AC Upper Deck
Where: 135 Joe Nuxhall Way, Downtown.
What: Located on the roof of the AC Hotel by Marriott Cincinnati at The Banks, this bar has views of the Ohio River with the Covington and Newport skylines on one side and Cincinnati on the other.
Buckhead Mountain Grill
Where: 35 Fairfield Ave., Bellevue.
What: This restaurant serves comfort food and craft beer but also gives guests something to feast their eyes on, such as a view of the Ohio River and the Cincinnati skyline.
Chart House
Where: 405 Riverboat Row, Newport.
What: Chart House may be a chain restaurant, but its riverside location in Newport has views that are pretty hard to beat.
City View Tavern
Where: 403 Oregon St., Mount Adams.
What: Located atop Mount Adams, City View Tavern offers burgers, drinks and views of Cincinnati.
Eighteen at the Radisson
Where: 668 W. Fifth St., Covington.
What: If you're looking for a unique dining experience, this one is for you. Eighteen at the Radisson, a steakhouse on the 18th floor of the Radisson Hotel Cincinnati Riverfront, rotates to give a 360-degree view of Greater Cincinnati. It moves slowly (about one rotation per hour) and serves dinner and brunch on Sunday.
Incline Public House
Where: 2601 W. Eighth St., East Price Hill.
What: Incline Public House sits right on the overlook of the hill and has views of more than just Downtown Cincinnati. Eagle eyes can even spot some of the city's 52 neighborhoods and parts of Northern Kentucky while enjoying lunch or dinner on the back patio.
Moerlein Lager House
Where: 115 Joe Nuxhall Way, Downtown.
What: Moerlein Lager House's patio faces toward the Ohio River. From the barges and boats on the river to Smale Riverfront Park and cars and pedestrians crossing over the bridges, it's perfect for people-watching.
Montgomery Inn Boathouse
Where: 925 Riverside Drive, East End.
What: As another riverfront restaurant, Montgomery Inn's well-known barbecue is a perfect excuse to take in the sights and sounds of the Ohio River.
Primavista
Where: 810 Matson Place, East Price Hill.
What: Primavista offers a more upscale Italian dining experience adjacent to Incline Public House, and it still gives that unbeatable view from Price Hill.
Shires Rooftop
Where: 309 Vine St., Downtown.
What: Located on the 10th floor above the City Club Apartments, the Shires Rooftop gives diners an excellent look at the Ohio River, Downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine.
Top of the Park at the Phelps
