Did Taylor Swift Just Skip the 2023 Golden Globes?
Taylor Swift may have been nominated for her first Golden Globe Award, but she was nowhere to be found at tonight's ceremony.
The "Anti-Hero" singer seemingly skipped the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. She was up for an award in the category of Best Original Song for her single "Carolina" from Where the Crawdads Sing. She joins fellow nominees Lady Gaga and Rihanna, who earned nominations for their tracks "Hold My Hand" from Top Gun: Maverick and "Lift Me Up" from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, respectively. The award ultimately went to Kala Bhairava, M. M. Keeravani, and Rahul Sipligunj for writing "Naatu Naatu" in the film RRR.
So, where was Swift?
The singer has yet to publicly comment on her absence, but she has been busy promoting her 10th studio album, Midnights. Her press tour included a surprise appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, bejeweled appearances at the American Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards, and a round of flashy media interviews. Suffice to say, blondie may just be taking a well-earned break.
Swifties made sure to voice their disappointment in the star's absence on Twitter. "Golden globes just started and no blondie in sight… she's just in traffic yall trust me," one user wrote. "BREAKING: Taylor Swift spotted at the Golden Globes wearing an invisible gown," another tweeted.

Swift previously thanked her fans for her milestone career during a speech made at the 2022 AMAs.
"I have the fans to thank, essentially, for my happiness. And I love you more than I can say. I cannot express how unbelievable it is to me that I still get to do this and that you still care. So, thank you, underlined with 13 exclamation points," she said.
