Did Lady Gaga Attend the 2023 Golden Globes?
Lady Gaga was not among the Hollywood stars who returned to the Beverly Hilton for this year's Golden Globes.
The pop star was nominated this year for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture, for her Top Gun: Maverick ballad "Hold My Hand" produced alongside co-writer BloodPop. The duo joined a stacked nominee list that included Rihanna and Taylor Swift; and yet, the multi-hyphenate seemingly skipped the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, as she was not spotted on the red carpet, nor in the ceremony's crowd. The award for Best Original Song ultimately went to Kala Bhairava, M. M. Keeravani, and Rahul Sipligunj for writing "Naatu Naatu" in the film RRR.
Though Gaga has kept a low profile for the past few months, the "Born This Way" singer did share her thanks for the ballad's 2023 Grammy nominations. "I am so honored to be nominated for 2 Grammys for "Hold My Hand" and the Top Gun: Maverick Soundtrack with my fellow composers," she wrote. "It's a real dream to be included in this celebration of music with a song and musical theme so close to my heart thank you ?? I fully cried, this never gets old and I'm super humbled."
Though she gave no explanation for skipping tonight's Golden Globes, the pop star was a hot topic on the red carpet, where Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega gushed over recreation of the Netflix series' viral TikTok dance, set to Gaga's song "Bloody Mary." The actress even theorized over a possible guest role for the pop star on Wednesday's second season, per Variety.
"I'm sure Netflix would love that," Ortega said of the possibility, adding that the singer would have to have a similar mentor arc to the relationship between Wednesday and Miss Thornhill, played by Christina Ricci. "If Lady Gaga were to be a part of it, they’d have to be two monsters who understand each other."
