Devon Lee Carlson on 7 For All Mankind Denim and Finding Fashion Inspo
Fashion's favorite cool girl Devon Lee Carlson isn't afraid to be totally herself -- something that's abundantly clear in 7 For All Mankind's newest campaign. Working alongside photographer Theo Liu, Carlson spotlights the brand's newest collection with an effortless confidence and self-assuredness that some of us can only dream of.
Evolving her longstanding relationship with the brand -- one she's been wearing since middle school -- the entrepreneur and model is pictured in classic denim silhouettes with a twist, utilizing her distinctive approach to styling to elevate and innovate.
Speaking about her fashion inspo, Carlson tells us "I love my friends and seeing what their brain tells them to wear. I think my sister has been wearing really cute things recently. I love everything Hunter Schafer and Dara do together and I love Taylor Russell's red carpet looks too! Just gorgeousness. Makes my eyes happy."
We caught up with Carlson to find out more about her relationship with 7 For All Mankind, the key to finding your own personal style and who fuels her fashion inspiration.

You've just starred in 7 For All Mankind's new Fall campaign, how did the relationship with the brand come about?
They had contacted me, and I've always been a fan of the brand. I've worn their jeans from middle school to now!
What was your favorite part about shooting the campaign?
I loved shooting with Theo. He is wild and so fun. I was hanging off a 20ft fence at one point. It felt like a model challenge from America's Next Top Model, I love it.
How would you describe it in three words?
Fun, New, Good!
You're someone known for their distinctive style, but how would you describe it?
I like to wear things I like.
What are some of the things you look for when planning an outfit? What are the must-haves?
I plan my outfits based on the environment, the people I'm going with, and the mood I'm in. Literally everything. I do prioritize being comfortable, always.
What are some things that helped you to discover your personal style? What would you recommend for those who still aren't quite sure?
Movies! TV shows! My friends! People watching! Tumblr! Inspo is everywhere. Experiment and try new things and just notice how you feel when you wear different things.
Who would you say are the people you look to for style inspiration? Who's killing it right now?
