Original story, 7/24 at 4:27 p.m.: TMZ has reported that Demi Lovato has been hospitalized for a heroin overdose, according to law enforcement. There has been no public confirmation from the singer or her team yet.
The 25-year-old pop star was transported from a Hollywood Hills residence before noon on Tuesday and is currently being treated, per TMZ. The site adds that the overdose occurred in her home. Lovato's condition is currently unknown.
The LAPD confirmed to People that they and the LAFD "responded to a medical emergency at the 8000 block of Laurel View Dr. at 11:40 a.m." They didn't disclose the patient's identity.
Demi's last public appearance was at the California Mid-State Fair on Sunday, where she performed with Iggy Azalea, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The Disney alum has previously suffered from substance abuse, but celebrated six years of sobriety in March. However in June, she released a chilling new song, "Sober," where she appeared to reveal that she relapsed. The track included lyrics like, "I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore."
Back in March when celebrating her six years clean, Lovato opened up about her journey with an emotional speech mid-concert.
"The reason why I became so open about my story is because I know that there are people here tonight that need to ask for help and I want them to know that it's OK," she said at the time, E! News reports. "Mental health is something that we all need to talk about and we need to take the stigma away from it. So let's raise the awareness. Let's let everybody know it's OK to have a mental illness and addiction problem. I'm bipolar, whatever. I take care of myself.
"I can never say thank you enough to you guys for the support that you've given me over the years," she said. "And you've forgiven me for my mistakes. So thank you for being a part of saving my life. I love you guys."
