After a day at the beach, the best places to stop for a snack in Westport and Tiverton
There’s no reason your relaxing beach day has to end just because you’ve left the beach.
After spending a day soaking up the sun and playing in the surf, you’ve no doubt worked up an appetite, too.
So why call an end to the day?
Why not make an entire day of it?
Once you’ve washed the sand off, grab a bite on the way home, to enjoy at a local restaurant, or to bring home with you.
We’ve put together a list of places not far from Horseneck, Grinnell’s and Fogland beaches where you can enjoy comforting fare, seafood, pizza, or even something sweet.

The Back Eddy, Westport
Address: 1 Bridge Rd.
The Back Eddy, “a seafood restaurant that does things a bit differently,” sources ingredients from local farms and artisans. Sit indoors or out, while indulging in items from the raw bar, grilled tuna, fried buttermilk bluefish, local lobster, or lazy lobster casserole, with braised leeks, asparagus, cornbread crumbs, and butter. They’ve also got steaks, sandwiches, and vegetarian options.

The Bayside Restaurant, Westport
Address: 1253 Horseneck Rd.
Family-owned and operated, with recipes that have spanned generations, The Bayside Restaurant is serving up locally sourced seafood and produce, which you can enjoy outdoors too. They’ve got New Bedford sea scallops, Rhode Island-style calamari, and other dishes like their famous baked scrod, the Bayside soft burrito, house-made crab cakes, and lighter fare with their wraps menu.
Buzzards Bay Brewing, Westport
Address: 98 Horseneck Rd.
Buzzards Bay Brewing offers picturesque scenery, in addition to beer crafted with locally grown malt and hops. They host events too, including opportunities to grab a bite to eat at visiting food trucks.

Ten Cousins Brick Oven, Westport
Address: 977 Main Rd.
With “farm-to-brick-oven” local flavors, Ten Cousins Brick Oven is serving up wood-fired pizzas, as well as wings, sandwiches, appetizers, and more. They’ve been featured on Phantom Gourmet, and their brick oven menu is eclectic. Specialty brick oven pizzas include The Azorean, with local chouri?o, bell peppers, red onions, tomato sauce, and mozzarella.
Grab a slice or some pie at: Nick’s Pizza, Timo’s Pizza, Village Pizza and Ice Cream, and Olympia Pizza in Westport

Nick’s Pizza is at 655 State Road. Try the Portuguese pizza, with chouri?o and sweet peppers.
Timo’s Pizza is located at 151 State Road. They’ve got specialty pizzas like steak arrabbiata, with steak, parmesan, peppercorn, tomato, and banana peppers.
Village Pizza and Ice Cream is at 760 Main Road. You can enjoy pizza by the slice, or check out a pizza from their Gourmet Line, like a lobster pizza, with oil and garlic, lobster, cheese, and alfredo drizzle.
Olympia Pizza is located at 875 State Road. Specialty pizzas include Tex Mex, with ground beef, spicy grilled chicken, three-cheese blend jalape?o peppers, and Texas BBQ sauce.
Pick something up to take home: Lees Market and Partners Village Store in Westport
Why not pick something up to take home and enjoy?
Lees Market is located at 796 Main Road. For decades, they’ve been a staple in the Westport community, with groceries, a butcher shop, specialty foods, a bakery, and more. They even grow some greens on site, in their hydroponic Vertigreens. The Blue Lobster Café has hot and cold drinks, breakfast, sandwiches, paninis, and more.
Partners Village Store, at 865 Main Road, has a cafe that is open daily until 4 p.m. They’ve also been vital to the fabric of the Westport community for decades, offering gifts, books, food, and more, including events that often shine the spotlight on local creatives and artisans. Their cafe menu is full of soups and salads, sandwiches, breakfast, and bakery items. You can also customize and build your own sandwich!
Four Corners Grille, Tiverton
Address: 3841 Main Rd.
Located in the historic Four Corners, the Four Corners Grille offers an eclectic menu in “a quaint, casual, country setting.” The menu is wide-ranging, with meals from both land and sea, pizza, burgers and melts, pasta, and more. Start off with some coconut shrimp, or mac and jack bites: craft-beer-battered spicy pepper jack cheese, bacon, and elbow macaroni. The Four Corners crab cake melt comes with grilled crab cake, cheddar cheese, sliced tomato, and Creole sauce, on grilled sourdough.
Groundswell Cafe + Bakery, Tiverton
Address: 3883 Main Rd.
The menu at Groundswell Cafe + Bakery “makes the best out of what’s in season.” With artisan coffee, the menu offers a range of both hot and cold beverages, and breakfast is served until 3 p.m. They’ve got different breakfast sandwich and toast options, roasted vegetable bread pudding, and breakfast bowls. The duck fat potato and bacon bowl comes with duck-fat-poached fingerling potatoes, sauteed shredded Brussels sprouts, roasted red pearl onions, crisp bacon lardons, roasted garlic aioli, and a sunny-side-up egg. The lunch menu features soups, salads, and sandwiches.
Coastal Roasters, Tiverton

Why not cool off after the beach with a crafted, iced beverage? Coastal Roasters, right by the water, offers a wide range of specialty drinks. Some featured drinks on their menu are the iced peanut butter honey latte, with peanut butter sauce and honey, blended with Coastal gold espresso and the milk of your choice, served over ice; and the iced lavender matcha latte, with Coastal’s lightly-sweetened matcha, flavored with lavender, and served over ice with your choice of milk. Want to keep it simple? Coastal’s cold brew is an iced coffee blend, brewed for a minimum of 18 hours, served over ice any way you like.
Black Goose Café, Tiverton
Address: 2160 Main Road
“Offering delicious food and views,” the Black Goose Café combines eclectic food choices with peaceful water views. Sip on cocktails, beer, wine, or even bubble tea, while nibbling on breakfast or lunch. Breakfast includes waffles, French toast, eggs, oatmeal, muffins, and more. The lunch menu includes soups and salads, and sandwich and panini options. They’ve also got a bowl menu, with plenty of rich and hearty fare.
From the sea: Evelyn’s Drive-In and Macray’s Seafood in Tiverton
What’s more synonymous with a beach day than a seafood lunch or dinner? You can enjoy a sit-down meal, or bring one home, from both of these spots.
Evelyn’s Drive-In, 2335 Main Road, has been serving local favorites all summer long, for decades. Bring some seafood home with you, or dine-in, in the air conditioning or out on the patio. The menu is of stacked with seafood options. The lobster chow mein, featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives,” comes with fresh lobster meat, atop hot chow mein gravy and Fall-River-style crispy noodles.
Macray’s Seafood, 115 Stafford Road, is “home of the original Macray’s of Westport clam cake recipe,” they say on their website. Bring something tasty home, or enjoy some outdoor dining with beachy vibes at Macray’s. Their menu is also brimming with seafood staples, which you can enjoy while sipping on some Del’s Lemonade.
Get some take-out: China Gourmet, Tiverton
Address: 180 Main Rd.
Pick up some Chinese food on the way home, at China Gourmet. Their menu is extensive, and packed with favorites. Crunch into a pork egg roll, enjoy some chow mein, or enjoy fresh vegetables and lo mein, while checking out the house and platter specials. Just be sure to get plenty to share.
Grab a slice, or several: Famous Pizza, Sabitado’s Pizzeria, Classic Pizza in Tiverton
Famous Pizza, 433 Main Road, of course has specialty pizzas on their menu, with options like sweet chili chicken, chicken bacon ranch, and chouri?o and chips.
Sabitado’s Pizzeria, 1204 Fish Road, has been cooking up thin-crust pizzas since 2003. Specialty pizzas include General Tso’s chicken, Portuguese steak, and feta, with different combinations of veggies.
Classic Pizza, 496 Main Road, has a “hearty” menu, with traditional and specialty pizzas. Their specialty pizzas include cheesesteak, pastrami, and Mediterranean, with grilled chicken breast, spinach, feta, mozzarella, and cheddar.
