Wondering When to Decorate for Halloween? Here's the Answer
Now's the time to dust off your storage bins and bring them out of storage!
For some people, the pumpkins, bats, and ghosts are ready to go on display as soon as October rolls in. But there are differing opinions about when to decorate for Halloween, so it isn't too early. We partnered with YouGov to find out exactly when Americans think it's acceptable to put up their Halloween decor, and the results might surprise you.
In the YouGov survey of 1,500 U.S. adults, a small portion of respondents (5%) said putting up seasonal decor before Labor Day was when to decorate for Halloween. Another 16% of the survey takers said it was okay to put decorations out between Labor Day and September 30, which seems a little more reasonable—especially if you live somewhere that experiences fall temperatures during September.

But the majority opinion for when to decorate for Halloween comes from nearly half of the respondents, who said October 1 was the most acceptable answer for when to decorate for Halloween. 47% reported they'd get out the carved pumpkins and Halloween wreaths between October 1 and 15. So, once we are officially in October, get out all the faux spiderwebs and ghost-theme decor you can find.
