Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin Were Seen at a Party Together, Sparking Reconciliation Rumors
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin always kept their relationship pretty private, appearing on photographed dates every couple months but not much more than that. In June, The Sun reported the two allegedly ended their relationship after a year and a half of dating, much to the shock of their friends. But yesterday afternoon, a photo emerged of them together on Twitter at the Covers wrap party. Johnson is starring in the film.
Maybe they got back together? Maybe they're getting back together. Maybe they never broke up, since they never confirmed the news themselves. Or perhaps they're just friends now. All are possible options, and Martin and Johnson aren't likely to reveal which is right.
When the breakup was reported, British outlets got some quotes from sources on what happened. Martin's friend told The Sun they had been serious before the split. “There was talk of engagement but now he says they have gone their separate ways, which has come as a real surprise to everyone,” the source said in June.
The Express was told by a source that same week that the two clashed over family plans. "Chris made it clear he wants more kids as soon as possible, but Dakota's career has really taken off, and that's the last thing she wanted to think about right away," its source said. "It got to the point, last month, where a light seemed to flick on in both their heads and they realized they were pulling in completely opposite directions—so they decided to call it a day." (Martin, 42, already has two children with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow; Johnson is just 29.)
The last update on how their relationship was going when they were together came in April. People was told by a source that they are "pretty serious."
