'The Crown' Recreates Kate Middleton's Racy Fashion Show Appearance
The Crown Season 6
Netflix just dropped first-look images from The Crown Season 6, Part 2, revealing that the series will recreate the racy fashion show at which Prince William is said to have fallen for Kate Middleton.
For the uninitiated, the now-Princess of Wales really did strut down the catwalk in a sheer dress and black underwear while attending St. Andrew's University, which is where she met the future King of England in the early aughts. Her brief foray into modeling was for charity, with the Charlotte Todd dress she wore reportedly selling for £78,000 at auction. Doing his part, William is believed to have ponied up £200 to sit front row at the event.

Although William and Kate met a year prior to the fashion show, in 2001, the story goes that the Prince decided to take their relationship up a notch after seeing Kate work the runway. Specifically, he's rumored to have turned to a friend and said, "Wow, Kate’s hot."

Kate is played by newcomer Meg Bellamy in the second half of The Crown Season 6, which premieres Dec. 16 on Netflix. In addition to showing the early days of William and Kate's courtship, the final stretch of the series will depict the wedding of then Prince Charles and his longtime love Camilla Parker Bowles.
The first half of the final season chronicled the last days and untimely death of Princess Diana, as well as the aftermath of the tragedy.
