The wavy hairstyle has garnered thousands of tutorials (and tons of views) on TikTok, which can only mean one thing: It’s time for all of us to get crimping. But those on TikTok are struggling to understand what exactly a crimper is. One tutorial video that amassed nearly 103,000 likes hilariously has some confused comments from younger viewers: “What is that tool called?” asked one commenter. “What is it??? Where can I buy it???” wrote another. Ah, the blissful ignorance and wonderment of the younger generation. The style popping up the most online right now is Kendall Jenner-esque waves with pin-straight ends. (Think Kendall’s woodland fairy Halloween look.) It’s super simple to achieve this look with a crimper: Section off the hair, clamp the tool from the root to the lower section, and leave the ends straight.
