The Creator of ‘Love Is Blind’ Finally Explained What's Up With Those Gold Wine Glasses
Has anyone else been watching Love Is Blind season 2? Because a lot is happening, including but not limited to romance, several extremely questionable moments in the pods, a bunch of rushed engagements, and some truly bizarre wine glasses.
As Cosmopolitan UK notes, fans of Love Is Blind have been obsessed with the fact that the show uses one very specific type of wine glass. It’s massive, it’s gold, it’s extremely opaque, and it seems to be the only drinking vessel available on this show.

Can someone please explain to me why all the wine/drink glasses everywhere in Love is Blind are opaque metal

These things literally show up in every scene, which seems to imply that producers carry them along with the cast everywhere they go?
at this point i’m expecting gold wine glasses to be listed in the credits of the show because we can’t have one scene without them #loveisblind pic.twitter.com/8wirCCll2J

Do they just carry these wine glasses around with them whever they go? Do they have a special bag to transport them in? Why is it always the same cup? #LoveIsBlind pic.twitter.com/i7WC4FzWQ5

Why, you ask? Honestly, this is a solid theory:
The Love Is Blind opaque metal wine glasses solve an essential realty tv problem: you gotta get everyone drunk but you can’t have anything in the shot that gives away how non-chronologically things are stitched together into a final product

But Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen told Variety that he’s just, like, super into the glasses? In response to being asked, “Okay, can I ask about the gold glasses? They aren’t just in the pods—they’re everywhere. Why?” Coelen said the following:
“I don’t know, it’s something I like. When you turn on the show, you know it’s our show. It’s a very authentic, really true following of these people’s journeys, but I like the fact that we have this sort of connective tissue with that in a really light way, it’s fun.”
Hmmm…nope, still have questions, sorry.
