- Appeal of recipe dish presented (33 1/3 %)
- Reason given why entrant should win this scholarship (33 1/3 %)

The ten (10) contestants with the highest scores as determined by the RR Judges, in their sole discretion, will move on to next round of judging. (In the event of a tie, the RR Judges will select a judge who has not previously reviewed either of the tying entries (the “Tie-breaker Judge”). The Tie-breaker Judge will judge the tying entries based on the above criteria and the contestant awarded the highest score will prevail.)
Phone Interviews – Top 10
RR Judge(s) will conduct phone interviews with each of the Top 10 contestants sometime during the period January 4, 2018 – January 16, 2018. Prior to conducting phone interviews, contestants will be required to provide age verification. If contestant is under the age of 18, written parental consent (or that of his/her legal guardian) will be required prior to conducting the phone interview (as set forth under the Contest Paperwork section below). If contestant cannot be reached after three (3) attempts to do so and/or is unavailable or unwilling to participate in the phone interview (or, where applicable, the consent of the parent/legal guardian cannot be obtained) within 48 hours of the first attempt to reach contestant, contestant may be disqualified and replaced by the contestant with the next highest score, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Contestants will be judged on the following criteria:

- Ability to communicate their personality and enthusiasm (50 %)
The four (4) contestants determined to have the highest scores from the phone interviews will be notified on or about January 18, 2018 and will have the opportunity to compete as Finalists in the food-related challenges in New York City on or about January 30 – February 2, 2018 (the “NYC Challenges”). (In the event of a tie, the contestant with the highest score for personality and enthusiasm will prevail.) Inability or unwillingness to travel as required herein during any of the requested dates for NYC Challenges may lead to disqualification of contestant in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Contestants understand that the Finalist notification may be recorded for possible future broadcast on and/or in connection with the Series and Related Series Media, and hereby consent to the recording(s) for such purposes.
NYC Challenges – Top 4
