Conor McGregor Jokes About His Broken Leg in His Latest Whiskey Ad
Conor McGregor has adjusted surprisingly well to breaking his leg. Following the fluke injury at UFC 264, where he sustained a break while shifting his weight onto his rear leg, the controversial MMA fighter immediately underwent reparative surgery, and had an intramedullary rod inserted into his tibia to assist healing—and remained in high spirits throughout.
McGregor shared an update with his fans immediately after the operation saying he was "feeling tremendous" and planning to "come back better than ever," and subsequently posted a series of photos to Instagram in which he can be seen recuperating with his pal, pop star Justin Bieber. He even disclosed that he's bestowed himself and his cast a new nickname: Big Foot.
And now McGregor is going one step further, and using his high profile injury to help promote his side hustle Proper No. Twelve, the Irish whiskey brand that he launched in 2018. In a new Instagram video, McGregor is shown relaxing on a poolside lounger with his "Big Foot" boot on full display, pouring himself a whiskey and lemonade. "When life serves you lemons, put your foot up and have a Proper lemonade," he says, adding in the caption that it's the "drink of the summer."
Not that he's taking things too easy. McGregor followed up his brand post with another carousel of photos on Instagram giving a glimpse into how he is keeping up with his training while he recovers from his injury, saying: "There are no limits to what we can overcome. Find the way!"
