YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Many like to use locally grown fruits and veggies, and it doesn’t get any more local than this community garden in York.

Mayor Michael Helfrich and other city leaders joined those from Ciocca Subaru — and what are called “Subaru Ambassadors” — to plant this year’s crop.
“So, it’s kind of a group effort,” Kyle Williams, a Subaru Ambassador, said. “They even installed a rain barrel for us so we can come out here and just grab some natural rainwater and dump it on the plants and just watch them flourish.”
Miller’s Plant Farm donated the seedlings.
Those who live nearby take care of the crops, right down to harvesting and eating them.
